Every year seems to make it more challenging to secure a position in the property market. When you have to bid on a rental property, pitting yourself against other desperate house hunters attempting to obtain a roof over their heads, you realize there is a severe problem. And, while most people think of Amazon as an unending digital warehouse full of strange and wonderful products ranging from power equipment to novelty socks, few would classify it as an estate agency. But one man decided to leap when he saw a ‘small house’ for sale on the website.
As housing costs rise, people are increasingly opting for smaller living spaces to save money and make housing more affordable. Several companies are selling small homes, and it appears that Amazon has hopped on the trend, offering a selection of tiny dwellings. Nathan Graham, also known as @unspeakable_fanytb on TikTok, ordered one of these small homes from the website and shared the results with his followers. The video, which went viral and had over 21 million views, shows Graham in his 19-by-20-foot pre-built home, which cost him about £15,000 ($20,000).
In his video, Graham purchases the pre-built house from Amazon and arranges for its delivery to his lawn. When the new gaff comes, he removes the box, opens the door, and steps inside, illustrating that small dwellings are practically ready to go right away—which is both fantastic and, sadly, very awful. The home already has a corridor and a bathroom installed, but we must fold out and slot the remaining structure into place. Graham and his friends quickly put everything together, causing the small dwelling to triple in size and reveal two additional areas.

The small house has most amenities, such as plumbing connections and plenty of room for extra furniture, but it lacks electrical wiring, which a professional should ideally install after purchase. In response to Graham’s video, surprised TikTok viewers shared their thoughts on the purchase. One user simply stated, “Worth it.”. Another individual responded, “I actually think this is cool; it would be easy to get land somewhere, put this up, and live decently.” A third person inquired, “What address do you ship it to if you don’t have a house?” It’s an alternative, I suppose.
