People are shocked at how many fans go to the NFL team’s game despite tickets being less than $1

During the Trump era and the period of heightened controversy following George Floyd’s death, the National Football League (NFL) gained notoriety for utilizing game spectacles to promote leftist ideologies and woke narratives, leaving many fans disheartened as they simply sought entertainment from football.

From “end racism” helmet stickers and end zone messages to players kneeling during the anthem without facing repercussions, the NFL alienated a considerable number of politically-oriented individuals and conservatives who merely wanted to enjoy a game with friends. This issue persists, even as the initial impetus for the woke agenda appears to have diminished.

A recent demonstration of waning interest in the NFL was evident in the game between the Charlotte-based Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons. Despite ticket prices dropping to under a dollar, reaching as low as $0.45, the stands at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte were noticeably sparse.

Front Office Sports, sharing an image of the nearly-empty stadium during the Carolina Panthers’ game, commented, “Depending on where you look, get-in ticket prices for today’s Carolina Panthers’ game ranged from about $0.45 to $5.”

The Panthers had anticipated a successful season with quarterback Bryce Young, the number one pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. However, the team has struggled significantly, performing worse than the previous season. In the 2022-23 season, they held a 7-10 record, whereas this year, they currently have the league’s worst record at 1-12.

Former President Donald Trump had famously criticized the NFL and its players for embracing wokeness in 2017, particularly during the surge of anti-American sentiments at the beginning of his presidency. Trump voiced his opinion, stating, “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out! He’s fired. He’s fired!’”

Trump predicted that an owner enforcing a strict anthem rule would become highly popular, asserting, “You know, some owner is going to do that. He’s going to say, ‘That guy that disrespects our flag, he’s fired.’ And that owner, they don’t know it [but] they’ll be the most popular person in this country.”

Trump also highlighted the NFL’s struggle with ratings in 2017, attributing it to the controversies, stating, “The NFL ratings are down massively. Now the No1 reason happens to be they like watching what’s happening … with yours truly. They like what’s happening. Because you know today if you hit too hard: 15 yards! Throw him out of the game!”

Similarly, in 2018, Trump suggested that players disrespecting the flag should be removed from the country, saying, “You have to stand proudly for the national anthem or you shouldn’t be playing, you shouldn’t be there. Maybe you shouldn’t be in the country.”
