People criticize Beyoncé’s 12-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, for appearing in an inappropriate outfit in which she looks like she’s 30

Beyoncé is back on the red carpet.

The music legend attended Mufasa: The Lion King’s Los Angeles premiere on December 9 with her daughter (and costar) Blue Ivy Carter, both dressed in similar metallic outfits.

Beyoncé, 43, donned a strapless, figure-hugging, structured gown with gold circular plating throughout. Her dress had a thigh-high slit and a plunging cutaway in the center of the sweetheart neckline.

The “Alien Superstar” singer’s blonde hair flowed with curls as she stood alongside Blue Ivy, 12, in a strapless gold gown. Her overall glossy appearance has the same dark undertones as her mother’s patterned design.

Beyoncé and Blue Ivy both got long, almond-shaped manicures, but the “Alien Superstar” chose a nude lip, and the preteen went wild with a scarlet pout.

Jay-Z, dressed in a suit and tie, joined the mother-daughter combination on the carpet. Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mother, also appeared for photographs with her family, dressed in a black off-the-shoulder blouse and jeans. She accessorized with black gloves and gold accessories.

Beyoncé returns as Nala in the animated musical drama, which serves as a precursor to Disney’s 2019 production of The Lion King, while Blue Ivy makes her feature debut as Kiara.

Beyoncé hailed her “gorgeous baby girl” on Instagram, where she shared premiere photographs. “It’s your night. You worked hard and did a wonderful job as Kiara’s voice. Your family could not be more proud. She wrote, “Keep shining.”

The family’s visit comes a day after Jay-Z strongly denied raping a 13-year-old girl with Sean “Diddy” Combs in 2000. The anonymous lady claims in her complaint that Combs and Jay-Z sexually assaulted her while they were watching an unnamed female celebrity at a party in a New York City home after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. Initially filed in October, the case later underwent modifications to include Jay-Z (born Shawn Carter).

In one piece of a rejection statement released on X (previously Twitter) on Dec. 8, the musician, 55, stated that the “heinous” charges will damage his family, which includes Blue Ivy and his wife Beyoncé’s twins, Rumi and Sir, both 7.

“My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press, ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people,” he stated in an email.

Although Beyoncé had not previously appeared on a red carpet in 2024, she had attended a number of award shows, most notably Glamour’s Women of the Year gala, where her mother Knowles received recognition, and the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, where she won the innovator award.

On December 20, Mufasa: The Lion King will hit theaters, and on December 13, the album featuring seven new songs will be available.
