Ralph Macchio has great intentions for Cobra Kai, which concludes after seven years of exploring the so-called ‘Miyagi-verse.’
Cobra Kai has been thriving in recent years, with plenty of adolescent drama, karate crane kicks, and redemption arcs.
But all good things must come to an end, and fans who have been following the program since season 1 in 2018 have been nervously expecting a satisfying conclusion.
The sixth and final season, divided into three parts, is finally here, and the Cobra Kai tale does an excellent job of wrapping up loose ends, completing story arcs, and reflecting on the journeys of all the individuals involved.
But for the show’s main character, Ralph Macchio, this is not the end of his Karate Kid quest. In reality, the 63-year-old should brace himself for his next picture, Karate Kid Legends, which will be released on May 30.

Speaking with UNILAD, Macchio discussed where this new tale fits into the Karate-obsessed world, as well as his feelings toward reviewers who are suspicious of the impending film.
He answered, “Well, I believe that, you know, it is a continuation for Daniel LaRusso. It’s years after the events of Cobra Kai, and it’s extremely wonderful to see Jackie Chan, this new youngster Ben Wang, and the entire ensemble.
“It’s sort of…” I describe it as a new chapter or ecosystem in the vast world, you know.”
The film takes place three years after the conclusion of Cobra Kai and focuses on Wang’s character Li Fong as he seeks direction from Chan and Macchio’s characters in order to overcome a series of hurdles in New York City.
The first attempt to expand the Karate Kid film trilogy (quadrilogy if you add the dreadful Hilary Swank picture) occurred in 2010 with Will Smith’s son Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan, and it was a bit of a meh’ event to be honest.

However, Macchio has remained steadfast in his belief in the upcoming Karate Kid film, stating that he is thrilled to create films that are less depressing and excite audiences in the same manner that films from the past did.
He went on to say, “As long as I can produce films that reflect pleasant tales about topics that we enjoyed back then.
“In a world that’s not always so positive, it’s nice to be involved in those kinds of stories that inspire families and young people.”
May is still a long way off, so now could be the ideal time to experience some of that inspired, action-packed 80s awesomeness by checking into Cobra Kai and binge-watching the plot to catch up with a slew of famous characters.
