Ree Drummond’s daughter, Alex Drummond Scott, has had her first child, making the Pioneer Woman star a grandma!

Alex, 27, and her husband, Mauricio Scott, had their first daughter, Sofia Marie, on Wednesday, December 18. The new mother posted the wonderful news on Instagram, along with a collection of black-and-white images of the couple and their new kid.

“At 2:27 am, our lovely girl arrived a few weeks early, right in time for Christmas! “We are so in love and forever changed,” the couple’s caption said. “Thank you, Lord.”

Ree, 55, expressed her delight over the milestone on her Pioneer Woman website, where she posted a photo of herself cradling Sofia in her arms. Sofia, according to the pleased grandmother, was “perfect.”

“I’m saying that with as much objectivity as I can,” Ree said. “But I’m not kidding; she’s wonderful. For instance, a simple search for the word ‘perfect’ in Merriam-Webster would yield a photo of Sofia Scott. Undoubtedly, that would be classified as an encyclopedia.

In October, Alex shared photos from her floral-themed baby shower on Instagram, along with the name she and her husband, Mauricio Scott, chose for their newborn daughter.

“Yesterday was everything I could ever dream of, celebrating our Sofia Marie. 🥹💕,” she captioned the image, published on Sunday, Oct. 20. “Praise the Lord for these wonderful women and so many more!”

Alex wore a magenta and white flowery dress to the baby shower, while her friends and relatives dressed in floral and pink attire. Alex also displayed a gift box featuring Sofia’s initials embroidered.

Ree also posted photos from the celebration gathering to her Pioneer Woman website. She spoke about the attention to detail that Alex’s college classmates and her sister, Paige Drummond, put into organizing the baby shower.

Ree wrote that the celebration included finger food, a mimosa bar, petit fours, and lots of Dr Pepper.

Other charming details during the shower were champagne glasses with ribbons tied around the stems, a calendar so everyone could predict Alex’s due date, baby pink cowboy boots, and photographs of the expectant parents.
