Reporter Adan Manzano, 27, sadly dies while covering the Super Bowl, only 10 months after his wife died in a car incident

Tributes are pouring in online for reporter Adan Manzano, who died while on duty covering the Super Bowl.

Manzano, 27, was a reporter and sports anchor for Telemundo Kansas City and Tico Sports.

Manzano died on Wednesday (February 5) while covering the Super Bowl in New Orleans, according to a social media statement from the television network.

Telemundo Kansas City said on Facebook yesterday (February 6): “We are sorry to share that Adan Manzano, reporter and sports anchor for Telemundo Kansas City, passed away yesterday in New Orleans while on assignment to cover the Super Bowl for Telemundo KC and Tico Sports.”

“[…] Adam was an amazing professional and rising star whose passion and talent demonstrated brilliance in his job. We shall miss Adam, his love of sports, and his contributions to the local community. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

The station acknowledged that it is “cooperating with the authorities as they examine this unfortunate tragedy.”

One Facebook user wrote, “Rest in peace, Adam. Pray for his family and friends.”

“I can’t believe this. I offer my heartfelt sympathies and resignation to his family. He was an amazing human being and coworker. Surely, one more star will shine in the sky. “Rest in peace, Adam, and fly high,” another said.

A third person expressed their sorrow: “We are sorry for your loss. We share the pain of your family, friends, and more because he was in the best moment of his life and in the place of our community. Rest in peace, Adam, for being a great reporter of some and so many of our chiefs’ games in Kansas City, MO… For you, there will be one more victory in your name.”

A fourth added, “I am profoundly saddened by the news of Adan Manzano’s death. My heartfelt sympathies to his family, friends, and coworkers at Telemundo Kansas City. May you take consolation in the memories and legacy Adam left in every story he told.”
