Richard Gere’s grown son inherits his infectious charisma and good looks

Richard Gere, 74, has recently become a parent for the second time. Richard and his wife, Alejandra Silva, 39, had a baby in February 2019.

According to sources, their second child was born in April 2020. Despite the fact that these are Gere and Silva’s first children, both of them have children from previous marriages.

This is in reference to Gere’s 22-year-old son, Homer James Jigme, with whom he shares custody with his ex-wife, Care Lowell.

Admit it: You’re curious to see how this 22-year-old looks today. You won’t be disappointed since, thankfully, we have a solution. Richard Gere established himself as Hollywood’s leading man with his performance in American Gigolo and parts in classic films such as Pretty Woman and An Officer and a Gentleman.

Soon after, Richard met Cindy Crawford, a model and actress who would go on to become his first wife. According to media reports, the pair met at a barbecue.

“We talked, then we had a date, then another date,” Crawford explained.

The pair immediately rose to prominence as one of Hollywood’s hottest, with cameras following them everywhere.

In addition to appearing on red carpets and front covers, Gere and Crawford dined at the best restaurants in New York and Los Angeles. Gere, on the other hand, was dubious about marrying his younger partner.

However, the couple decided to go to Las Vegas and marry in December 1991. Only a few guests were invited to the church, so it was far from a grandiose wedding.

“It was the wedding of my dreams. Crawford once remarked of the wedding, “It was so last minute.”

Four years later, the couple filed for divorce. Cindy Crawford has frequently complained that the age difference is disproportionate. She was 22 and Richard was 39 when they first met.

“I think I was more willing at 22 to be, like, ‘Okay, I’ll follow,’ but then you start going, ‘Well, I don’t want to just follow—I want to lead sometimes and walk side by side sometimes,'” she revealed.

Four years later, the couple split. Cindy Crawford, who has always maintained this, believes the age disparity is too large. When they first met, Richard was 39, and she was 22.

Their first and only child, Homer Gere, was born in February 2000. Gere had been hesitant to have children while dating Crawford. When Carey Lowell was present, everything was different.

“It was actually fairly straightforward. I never had a problem with children in any way. Carey had a kid from a previous marriage, and caring for this child and having our own child seemed natural. “It was completely natural and spontaneous,” he told The Guardian in 2002.

Homer was born in New York City, and his parents named him Jigme in honor of Gere’s commitment to human rights in Tibet.

The Pretty Woman star told The Guardian that being a father may change a guy in the following ways:

“When you weigh it against the important things in your life, the minor stuff just doesn’t matter anymore. “Every cliche about parenthood is true.”

Homer grew up in the spotlight since his parents were world-famous celebrities.

When his mother and father divorced in 2003, much was made of the family’s secrecy. There were many rumors and cheap jabs thrown about the divorce at times.

Homer was thrust back into the spotlight when his parents fought over who would get custody of him.

According to media sources, Carey Lowell imposed the stringent standards since she had been out of employment for many years. Lowell claimed she was entitled to half of Gere’s earnings since their marriage in 2002, since she quit her job to care for him and their son Homer.

Hannah Dunne, Homer James Jigme Gere’s half-sister, is the offspring of his mother Carey Lowell’s previous marriage to actor, producer, and director Thomas Gryphon Dunne. The next year, when Richard Gere’s wife, Alejandra Silva, gave birth to a baby boy in New York City, Homer welcomed his half-brother.

In contrast to his father, Homer tries to keep a low profile. He currently resides in New York. Richard appears to have inherited his son’s beautiful features and captivating personality.

But, unlike his father, Homer chooses to keep a quiet profile. Despite his efforts to stay out of the spotlight, Homer appeared in public with both of his parents when he was younger.

For example, Homer and his father have featured together in the Giffoni Film Festival, Europe’s largest children’s film festival, which is held in the Italian town of Giffoni Valle Piana. Homer and his father are said to be still close, and many people believe the two bore a striking resemblance.
