Rod Stewart admits that his ‘days are numbered’ as he reveals his perspective on dying

Sir Rod Stewart has spoken out about his ambitions for ‘these final few years’ as he approaches his 80th birthday.

The iconic rock singer, who is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, is 79 years old, yet he still gets up on stage and performs, even declaring on social media that he will ‘never retire’.

However, Stewart has been focusing on the future as he approaches his eightieth year on this earth and considers what else he wants out of life. Stewart supporters should not worry, because when he says ‘past few years,’ he does not just mean two or three.

In an interview with The Sun, Stewart stated that he is ‘not like [he] was in the ’70s and ’80s’ and is certainly ‘more cognizant of [his] health today than before’.

He stated, “I can’t stay up all night, get drunk, and go crazy and still have that voice. Nowadays, I have to safeguard my voice before and after each performance.

“As you get older, you have to do more of it. Water plays a significant role in this.”

But does that imply he just drinks water? Certainly not.

Stewart stated that he still gets cranky after every concert.

“You’re speaking with Rod Stewart here, mate. […] There are 13 of us, six of whom are ladies and excellent musicians, and my role is to make them drink. “We love it,” he said.

The artist also admitted to indulging in a quick Bacardi before gigs, which he tries to convince himself is ‘good for [his] voice’.

Stewart joked that despite knowing his days are limited, he ‘has no fear’.

He continued, “We’re all in the same boat because we all die.

“I’m going to enjoy myself as much as possible in these last few years.” I said a few; probably another 15.”I can do that easily, mate.”
Stewart has ‘ambitions like touring with Jools’ for the next however many years of his life, but ultimately ‘would feel selfish if [he] asked for anything more’.

Stewart commented, “I’ve had a wonderful time and a wonderful life, and I’ve enjoyed myself, so I wouldn’t want anything more.

“I probably enjoy excellent health, good health for my children, and happiness… Celtic [football club] is doing well.”

He said, “We recently defeated Manchester City in a friendly.” “I am a true Celtic fanatic.”
