Sandra Bullock recalls Keanu Reeves bringing her champagne and truffles more than 20 years ago…

Sandra Bullock claims that Keanu Reeves once surprised her with champagne and truffles after she commented that she had never tried them.

Sandra Bullock reflects on Keanu Reeves’ kind gesture.

Bullock and Reeves, both 57, first met on the set of Speed in 1994. On set, the two became great friends, and one day, while discussing Champagne and truffles, Bullock stated that she hadn’t tasted them, according to Esquire.

When Reeves questioned, “Really?” Bullock responded, “Nope, never had ’em,” and the two went on to another topic—or so Bullock believed. She told the magazine that a few days later, she was at home with her roommate, doing her nails, when Reeves showed up outside on his motorcycle.

When Bullock rang the doorbell, he was greeted with a delightful surprise. According to Esquire, Reeves arrived with flowers, champagne, and truffles.

“I just thought you might want to try Champagne and truffles to see what it’s like,” he said, coming inside and sitting on Bullock’s sofa while she poured Champagne and split open the truffles.

Bullock even painted Reeves’ nails, she added, when the actor held out his hands and she applied a layer of black to his nails, the same color she had been painting her own.

“He’s a listener,” Bullock explained to Esquire. “It also drives. People. Crazy.”

Bullock said Reeves didn’t stay long after dropping off the truffles and Champagne because he had a date. Bullock described her coward’s kind gesture as an illustration of his listening abilities.

“That’s what I mean when I say it drives you crazy,” she said to Esquire. “When I first met him, I would fill as much silence as I could just to feel at ease.” And the more I rambled on, the quieter he became.

“And I thought, I don’t understand what’s going on!” she went on. “He’s staring at me with puzzled eyes. He keeps to himself. Did I say something that irritated him? And then, a day or two later, he’d show up with a note or a small box saying, ‘I thought about what you said.’ And he’d have his reaction.”

“How many people do you know like that?” added Bullock.

Even though he surprised her with a romantic gesture that day, Bullock stated that she and Reeves never dated, although she thought they could have been a nice match.

Bullock also told Esquire that she believed “maybe” she and Reeves “could have survived” as a marriage if they had started dating.

“Keanu’s a guy who, I feel like, is friends with every woman he’s ever dated,” she said. “I don’t believe anyone has anything negative to say about him. So maybe we could have made it. “I’m not sure.”

“But we didn’t have to survive anything,” she continued. We basically get to grow up on parallel paths, tip our heads, meet for dinner, and attempt to work together. And the more time passes, the more I admire the human being.”

“Could I have said that if he had dumped me and made me angry?” “I doubt it,” Bullock remarked.
