Scarlett Johansson responds to her husband Colin Jost’s ‘vulgar’ NSFW joke about her on SNL

When you marry a comedian, you essentially agree to be the target of your partner’s jokes.

Scarlett Johansson discovered this the hard way when her husband, Colin Jost, brought it up during a Saturday Night Live (SNL) sketch.

Jost has been a staff writer for SNL for two decades and married Black Widow actor Scarlett Johansson in 2020.

The comic, along with fellow comedian Michael Che, is most known for his ‘Weekend Update’ program.

For the segment, the two people compose each other’s jokes, which they don’t know about beforehand.

Che recently asked if Johansson would be okay with being named, and while she said OK, she had no clue how far the jokes would go.

The program, which aired on December 21, recorded Johansson’s reactions to the statements on camera.

Her remark instantly went viral, as the actor was visibly shocked.

One joke that really shocked Johansson was about her vagina.

Regarding the son he shares with Johansson, Jost stated, “Costco has removed the roast beef sandwich from their menu. But I’m not tripping. “I’ve been eating roast beef every night since my wife had the child.”

Johansson knew there might be a vaginal joke, but neither she nor the audience were ready for it.

Johansson has now elaborated on her reaction during an appearance on TODAY With Jenna & Friends earlier this week.

Jenna Bush Hager, the host, brought up a fantastic SNL sketch that aired last month.

“It got so vulgar,” Johansson continued, as Bush Hager mentioned that they couldn’t air much of the concert because it was too risqué and not suitable for daytime television.

Going on to say that she was given a heads-up about being referenced and the nature of the jokes, the actor stated that she warned the SNL staff, “I don’t want to be canceled or divorced.” “Those are my boundaries.”

The Marriage Story actor recalled what it was like when the jokes were spoken while she was being recorded, saying, “Honestly, Jenna, I felt like it was like To Catch a Predator when the lights kind of came on me and suddenly there was a whole audience.”

Fortunately, the A-lister was holding a very strong drink at the moment, she said.

Emma Stone was also in the SNL studio at the time, and she described the jokes as ‘not OK.'”.

“My heart was racing, my eyes were watering, and my hands were shaking.” “It was very surreal,” Johansson said of his encounter.
