Regrettably, it should be illegal for many people to own or interact with animals.
Hayden Howard noticed something was wrong with her dog about a year ago.
Her English mastiff, Jackson, had been playing in the backyard while she was inside. Upon calling him in, she noticed his body covered in mosquito bites.
But when she peered closer, she discovered the truth was much worse.

In reality, Jackson had numerous gunshot wounds.
“I was completely shocked; I didn’t know what to think,” Hayden told WXIN.
Upon discovering Jackson’s wounds, she promptly took him to the veterinarian. When the vet inspected Jackson, he discovered masses of small bullets shot from a BB pistol.
“There was one trapped under his eyelid, one in his ear, one in his knee; they were everywhere,” Hayden recounts. ”

There were so many that the doctor had to cut nearly all of Jackson’s fur to remove the plastic shells. He extracted 27 bullets in all, but had to leave 20 where they were.
Additionally, the vet found 20 more gunshot wounds in Jackson’s little body.
He had sustained more than 70 shots.
“I’ve never seen an animal shot that many times.” It’s a serious case, and it’s sad to see,” Seymour Police Department Assistant Chief Craig Hayes stated.
I don’t understand how someone could be so horrible to a dog, especially when the dog has never hurt anyone.
Police were pursuing the perpetrator, who was allegedly the source of the bullets from a nearby yard.

It didn’t take long before they discovered ammo and a rifle stashed in a neighbor’s house.
In addition to a BB gun and pellets, authorities discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside his residence, according to the Daily Mail.
I sincerely hope the person involved receives a lengthy prison sentence and pays the consequences for their actions.
I sincerely believe that we should never allow them to interact with another animal after their release.
Despite his major trauma, Jackson is doing well, according to Hayden.
Watch the following news report about the incident:
Although some news sites refer to BB and pellet guns as “toys” or “fakes,” they are genuine weapons capable of causing serious harm.
Treating a crime with a BB or pellet gun as such is appropriate. Criminals who use this genuine gun against innocent individuals should face appropriate penalties.
I truly hope Jackson returns to full health soon and can play happily in his backyard again.
