Carol Howarth, a resident of Haverfordwest, UK, parked her car for a quick shopping errand, only to find upon her return that her car had been swarmed by hundreds of uninvited guests—bees.

Upon witnessing the unusual scene, local resident Tom Moses was amazed and a bit concerned. He recounted, “It was quite a spectacle. I arrived to find a crowd of people taking pictures, but I felt a bit uneasy. The car was parked in front of a bar, and I feared that someone might do something reckless, like throwing boiling water at the bees. It had the potential to end in disaster.” Consequently, Tom promptly called bee experts to the scene, who successfully corralled the swarm into a box.

However, Carol’s respite was short-lived. The following day, she discovered that the bees had followed her home. Concerned, she reached out to the beekeepers again for assistance.
Roger Burns, one of the beekeepers, explained the peculiar situation: “We believe the queen was drawn to something inside the car, likely something sweet. She got entangled in the car’s plastic, and the swarm of over 2,000 bees followed her, congregating on the vehicle.”

After some effort, the beekeepers managed to free the queen, who then returned to her hive. The beekeepers noted that while it’s typical for bees to follow their queen, it was rather unusual for them to trail a car for two consecutive days.
