When Danielle Davis married the love of her life, she envisioned a life that mirrored her dreams. Unfortunately, her joy was short-lived when her husband, only seven months into their marriage, was involved in a motorcycle accident that left him on life support.
The prospects of his recovery seemed bleak, and every doctor consulted advised Danielle to make the difficult decision to take him off life support. Despite medical recommendations, Danielle chose to keep her husband, Matt, on life support, holding onto hope for a miracle.
“I believed that God could guide him through, and God could handle the situation,” she explained.
Unable to keep him at the hospital any longer, Matt was transferred home, where Danielle and her mother-in-law took on the responsibility of caring for him. Danielle expressed, “Let’s provide him with the best view in the world if he’s confined to a bed,” ensuring Matt’s comfort as much as possible.

As months passed and optimism waned, Matt defied the odds and woke up. The fact that he could open his eyes was considered a miracle. Subsequently, he underwent a gradual process of psychological and physical recovery. The most surprising moment for his wife and family, however, was the first thing he said upon waking—a request for a “buffalo chicken wrap from Cheddar’s.”
Although Matt managed to regain his long-term memory, recollections of his wedding day and recent years remained elusive. Unfortunately, he couldn’t walk, but despite the challenges, he remains committed to improving his condition.
Matt’s vibrant personality still shines, and he even shares humorous advice for husbands, saying, “Take out the trash because there might be a day when you can’t,” lightening the mood.
Matt’s journey serves as a testament to the strength of prayer and faith in God. A bystander who came across Matt’s remarkable story remarked, “Just have faith; nothing is too big for our God.” Another added, “With God, anything is possible.”
