Shelley Smith, star of ‘The Associates,’ died at the age of 70

Shelley Smith, a former actress and model best known for her appearance in the television series ‘The Associates,’ has died at the age of 70.

Her husband, Michael Maguire, posted a Facebook video in which he disclosed that Smith had died as a result of a heart attack. He then emphasized to Fox News that his wife was suffering from persistent respiratory ailments.

Maguire said that Smith acquired pneumonia while in Africa during her early days as a model, causing her to have recurring attacks of the sickness.

“She developed pneumonia ten times in her life.” “It just started going downhill in the last year,” Maguire says. Smith’s sole choice was a double lung transplant, but due to her poor state and the difficulties connected with the surgery, she finally chose against it.

Maguire revealed his wife’s death on Facebook last week, saying, “My dear, sweet angel Shelly Smith passed peacefully [August 8] at 2:20 PM.” Her children, Nicky and Miranda, Nathan, and I were at her side, holding her hand, kissing her on the cheek, singing to her, and telling her how much we loved her.”

Smith also participated in ‘For Love and Honor’ and had guest appearances on iconic series such as ‘The Love Boat’ and ‘Murder, She Wrote, in addition to her position in ‘The Associates.’

Smith also appeared on a number of celebrity game programs, including ‘Super Password.’

Maguire and Smith’s 18th wedding anniversary had just passed. The pair first met through mutual acquaintances and married in 2005.

“We’d both been through really difficult divorces and were, you know, a bit gun shy… ” We were just so connected,” Maguire explained. “And then there were a lot of parallels in our lives because she was a supermodel and was very successful, and then she went into acting, and then she went back to school.”

Maguire, a Tony Award winner, left his job to complete his schooling and become a divorce attorney.

“She received a degree in marriage and family therapy while also dealing with her own fertility issues” before giving birth to her twins, Nicky and Miranda. Smith created her own business focusing on egg donation and surrogacy after seeing the need to assist women with reproductive issues. She has dedicated her life to supporting families in their expansion.

“Your time here is limited. How you spend your money is the actual measure of success. And she was sincerely committed to assisting individuals in starting families. That is her most lasting legacy. That is something she would be most proud of.”

Maguire expressed surprise at the outpouring of love from the public in the aftermath of Smith’s death and disclosed that the family is planning an online monument to her memory.

During this terrible time, our thoughts and prayers are with Shelley Smith’s family, friends, and fans.
