Spencer Pratt will always be in Heidi Montag’s corner.
A day after the singer, 38, stunned fans by walking the 2025 American Music Awards red carpet with a blonde haircut, a far cry from her customary long locks, Pratt, 41, defended his wife against hateful remarks.
The pleased spouse responded to a TikTok remark from a fan who wrote about Montag, “I love, love, love her, but you should’ve stopped that wig.”

Pratt posted a photo of Montag at the event, where she was dressed in a bedazzled blue outfit by THE BLONDS, with the caption, “Only 3 days. If you love her, buy the Heidiwood album so she can afford better wigs in the future.” Fancy wigs cost around $20,000; ask Beyoncé.”
Montag’s forthcoming album, Heidiwood, is available for pre-save and pre-order today, with a May 30 release date.
Pratt shared a video on Instagram in which he stated, “For the wig haters, please pre-order HEIDIWOOD now so that future wigs have more budget ❤️🙏.”
His assistance did not end there, however.

Pratt also reacted to a Page Six story regarding Montag’s hair with the title “Heidi Montag dragged for wearing ‘world’s worst’ wig to AMAs 2025: ‘From Party City.'”
“Many people liked the wig. Many people didn’t like it, but we’re grateful to be at the American Music Awards and have anyone mention Heidi’s hair. ” What a blessing,” Pratt remarked in a second TikTok video.
He stated that he and his wife, with whom he has boys Gunner, 7, and Ryker, 2, aspire to acquire “Beyoncé money” one day, as a “really nice wig is $20,000.”
“We don’t have a $20,000 wig budget,” he told me. “So it’s a nice little wig for the price we can pay for one. It was simply meant to be a fun little ‘Oh, look at the wig,’ and it worked, I suppose.”

“I’m so thankful that so many people care about Heidi and they want her to look the best she possibly can on a red carpet, and a lot of people loved the wig, so it’s all good,” according to him.
Montag told Entertainment Tonight at the American Music Awards why she wants to experiment with her hair.
“We simply thought [we’d] change things around a little to keep it new. “I’ve never done this before, so it’s very exciting, but only for a moment,” she explained.
