Story of the day!  Grieving man sees his wife and son two years after their funeral

Gerry was married to Samantha, his loyal wife, and lived in a tiny village. They were childhood sweethearts who dated throughout high school. Samantha discovered she was pregnant two years after they married. Gerry was ecstatic, and the two began discussing names right away. Samantha’s pregnancy was challenging. She was exhausted and had horrible morning sickness. Her nausea continued till lunchtime and didn’t go away until the afternoon. This annoyed her, not to mention the extra hormone influxes that come with pregnancy.

Samantha’s moodiness perplexed Gerry, and he started to consider other women. This is when Mary came into his life. Despite the fact that it ate away at his remorse, he started an affair with her. Samantha and Gerry were eventually blessed with the birth of a lovely baby boy. Gerry, on the other hand, recognized that he had made a huge error. Seeing Samantha and their kid together helped him realize that Mary was not the right lady for him. His mistress was presenting a danger to his precious little family, and he wished he could turn back the clock. He terminated things with Mary, who agreed but was not pleased.

Gerry’s life subsequently entered a new era of honesty. Samantha needed to see her mother a year later, and she brought their one-year-old boy with her. Gerry’s fortunes would take an unexpected turn. Samantha and their child were killed in a vehicle crash. When Samantha’s mother phoned with the news, Gerry’s heart broke into a million pieces. Gerry missed the memorial and cremation because of the storm, but Samantha’s mother gave him a piece of her ashes.

Gerry, who was saddened and grieving, sought consolation once again in Mary’s arms. As he sought relief from the anguish and loneliness that had engulfed him, she became his girlfriend again. Mary was a vibrant and exuberant lady, yet she couldn’t be more unlike Samantha. Gerry called Samantha’s mother regularly to check on how they were coping with their loss. He was always amazed at how swiftly her parents appeared to advance. They decided to go to France now that their kid was no longer living, so they could enjoy their retirement in peace and free of thoughts of their departed daughter and granddaughter.

Gerry missed Samantha’s maternal traits even after they cremated her two years ago. He was fully aware of Mary’s aversion to having a family. Children are too much hassle, as Mary would say to Gerry. But it didn’t stop him from giving it another go. Gerry was a fatherly guy who always carried his baby’s photo with him. His heart still aches for their loss. If he found Samantha’s photographs elsewhere, Mary would be jealous, so he kept them concealed in his wallet. There was a hidden chamber. One day, Mary contacted Gerry, encouraging him to hurry home from work because she had a surprise for him.

She handed him an envelope with two airline tickets to France inside. Gerry was surprised, but this was Mary’s fantasy, not his. Despite this, he consented to her eager babbling. Soon after they landed in France, Mary got sick. It wasn’t anything big, but she didn’t want to go sightseeing while she was bedridden, so Gerry went exploring the gorgeous countryside on his own. Gerry’s mind drifted around the streets of France as he processed the upheaval in his life.

He was feeling terrible and depressed until he observed a lady in a store window who looked precisely like Samantha. As he circled around for a closer look, his eyes widened in surprise. The wife was joined by what looked to be their child, a tiny one. Gerry had the strength to approach her and yell out Samantha’s name, overcome by a combination of hope and confusion. The lady turned around, her face expressionless, much to his amazement. She had clearly not anticipated this. When Samantha saw Gerry standing in front of her, her eyes widened in dread. She cautioned him to keep away, as though she couldn’t wait to get away.

She immediately wanted to know how he found her. Her voice was both a balm for Gerry’s soul and a lash across his flesh. He figured they were both gone for good. Gerry was able to communicate with Samantha after he recovered control of his voice. “How… why?” he stammered. As a consequence, she shared a heartbreaking reality.

She had supposedly paid Samantha a visit while Gerry was at work, soon after Gerry had ended his relationship with Mary. She identified herself as Gerry’s girlfriend and explained that they were having an affair while Samantha was pregnant.

Samantha planned a strategy to completely withdraw from Gerry’s life, worried that their kid would grow up with an unfaithful father. She sought to protect their child from harmful influences. She also enlisted her mother’s help, which contributed to her believability. They falsified a death certificate so Samantha and the baby could go to France under new names and identities. Then three more people approached him, and their youngster called out to the guy, “Dada.” Gerry’s heart broke, but there was nothing he could do to convince his son that he was his father.

Gerry concluded that the other two were Samantha’s parents. They had moved to France so that they could be closer to their daughter and grandchild. Gerry was abandoned to his fate. Gerry pleaded with Samantha, stating that he regretted the affair and had broken up with Mary. Samantha, on the other hand, refused to listen, no matter how hard he tried to convince her that he had picked her. When she wrapped her arm around the guy their kid named Dada, Gerry spotted her wedding band. It wasn’t the one he’d slipped on her ring finger all those years previously. Gerry departed with an even more devastated heart than before.

He recognized how much his choices had damaged his family and that remorse could not restore the evil he had done. When Gerry arrived at the hotel where he and Mary were staying, he was met with surprising news. Mary requested that a doctor see her in their hotel room. He performed various tests and determined that her condition was the result of her pregnancy. Gerry wasn’t sure how many more shocks he could take that day. He was at a loss for words since Mary had indicated unequivocally that she did not want children.

Sadly, Mary’s thinking had not changed, and she had made plans for an abortion in the near future. She stated that she only informed Gerry out of obligation. When she used his credit card to pay for the appointment, he discovered the actual reason. He confronted her about Samantha and how she had lied about her pregnancy to his wife. She, of course, denied it. Gerry attempted to urge her to contemplate the kid once more when he dropped her off at the hospital.

She definitely refused. So, with a heavy sigh, he informed her that he was leaving her. He provided her with enough money to get her through the remainder of their trip and for a few months after she came home. However, he did board the first flight home. He was willing to accept the repercussions of his conduct.
