Susan Boyle’s duet with Andrea Bocelli in ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ will give you goosebumps

Susan Boyle has been living her dream since she appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, and it appears that her luck is just getting better.

The Scottish singer was beaming upon her arrival in Japan yesterday, where she is scheduled to make an appearance on the nation’s most popular television show on New Year’s Eve.

Boyle, 48, will be boosted by the news that she will perform a duet with opera star Andrea Bocelli on ITV1’s upcoming show Pop Star To Opera Star, which will train pop performers to sing arias.

Susan startled record label executives earlier this month when her album I Dreamed A Dream dethroned Bocelli’s My Christmas and reached number one on the Billboard charts in the United States.

A source at The Sun newspaper claims that Susan has miraculously prevented Andrea from topping the US charts for weeks.

But he harbors no grudges—he quipped that he “must sing with this amazing woman.”

Susan’s debut album sold over 700,000 copies in its first week, breaking records on Amazon and attaining the highest pre-sales statistics in the site’s history.

Bocelli, 51, who is blind, has sold 70 million CDs and served as a coach on American Idol.

Boyle is rumored to be joining him for one of his most famous duets, Time to Say Goodbye or The Prayer, which he previously sang with Celine Dion.

The duet comes after she fulfilled a lifetime ambition by performing I Know Him So Well alongside her idol Elaine Paige on an ITV1 Christmas special chronicling Boyle’s ascent to prominence.

And her popularity shows no signs of waning, with fans in Japan anticipating a spectacular performance on New Year’s Eve.

The artist will perform a traditional Japanese song on the country’s most popular New Year’s Eve broadcast.

‘Kohaku Uta Gassen is a major show seen by millions,’ a source close to the artist stated.

‘Susan has been practicing a Japanese traditional song called Wings To Fly, which she plans to play live for the first time.”

The song was first released as a bonus track on the Japanese version of her album I Dreamed A Dream, which is now number one in the Japanese album charts although Boyle has never visited Japan or been marketed there.

Pop stars such as Will Young, Girls Aloud’s Kimberley Walsh, and former Sugababe Mutya Buena are being touted as potential Pop Star to Opera Star contenders.

While Paul Potts, who won the inaugural season of Britain’s Got Talent in 2007, has been identified as a prospective coach for the pop artists.
