Bobby Sherman, who had achieved musical acclaim in the late 1960s and early 1970s, went on to become an emergency medical technician. Sherman, best known for his hit songs and role in Here Come the Brides, captivated audiences with his personality and musical ability. However, in the late 1970s, he departed the entertainment industry owing to the pressures of stardom.
Sherman became a qualified emergency medical technician (EMT) when his acting career failed. Motivated by his work on Emergency!, he pursued EMT-Defibrillation and finally became an LAPD officer. Sherman also gave birth to five children on the field, one of whom shares his name. His legend endured long after he left the spotlight, and in the late 1990s, he made a brief return to the stage.
Sherman and Patti Carnel had two children before they divorced in 1978. They got married in 1971. Later, he married Brigitte Poublon, and the two of them co-founded charities.
Sherman’s journey from teenage idol to lifesaver exemplifies his metamorphosis from musical star to committed parent and public servant.
