The 8-year-old girl had a fashionable haircut, but the school’s response was shocking: “The school had its own rules.”

Marian Scott is a third-grade student at Paragon Charter School in Jackson, Michigan.
According to her mother, Latoya Howard, the eight-year-old kid enjoys singing and creating YouTube videos.

According to the lady, her daughter had long desired to wear bright-colored braids in her hair, and her mother eventually caved just before the school photo session on October 3.

Latoya did the child’s hair herself, resulting in multiple red pigtails nestled into a lump on Scott’s head. The youngster was so thrilled with her new appearance that she kept looking in the mirror and thanking her mother.

The third grader’s joy, however, quickly turned to tears when the institution’s officials noticed her new appearance and refused to let the youngster stand for a picture and “represent their school.” Marian remained alone in the corridor as the other students took photographs, feeling distant from them.

The child’s parents were likewise saddened when they learned about the event; according to Doug Scott, the father of the elementary school kid, the girl’s tears broke his heart. Furthermore, the family had not anticipated such a strong response from the school.

The administration of “Paragon” has the right to stand firm in its choice. According to the institution’s charter, youngsters participating in a photo session for a general image should have hair in natural tones and traditional haircuts. Furthermore, the school apparently issued letters to parents advising them of the appearance standards a few days before the event.

Doug Scott claims he never received such a communication. And the individual has concerns about how the school officials acted in the present scenario as well as the rationale of their approach.
