Hudson Meek, who appears in the 2017 film Baby Driver, died at the age of 16 after falling from a moving car.
The 16-year-old played a younger version of Baby (Ansel Elgort) in the film and has also acted in the MacGyver revival and the unreleased film The School Duel.
According to People, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office in Alabama identified Meek as the victim of a 16-year-old who received blunt force injuries after falling from a moving car in Vestavia Hills on December 19th.
Meek was brought to the hospital following the accident and died two days later (21 December), and his family confirmed the 16-year-old’s death in a statement put on his Instagram account that day.
The note read: “Our hearts are devastated to announce that Hudson Meek has gone home to be with Jesus tonight. His 16 years on Earth were far too short, yet he did so much and had a huge influence on everyone he knew.”

The family asked for prayers and revealed plans for a celebration of the 16-year-old’s life on December 28th, along with the establishment of a scholarship at Vestavia Hills High School in his honor.
Afterward, someone posted an obituary for Meek, noting that he “passed quietly” and that they donated his organs.
“Hudson’s personality was unique.” He was confident, adamant about his convictions, impulsive, and quick-witted.
“He never let facts get in the way of telling a funny story, and he enjoyed friendly banter.” He was a trickster who enjoyed a clever joke and was happiest while making others laugh.
Hudson excelled in environments where he could meet and help new people. Hudson was a vivacious and active individual who embraced life to the fullest.

“Hudson was also a successful actor. He significantly contributed to numerous film and television projects, some of which will be released in 2025.
“He absolutely loved spending time on set and learning the names and stories of every member of the cast and crew.”
His representatives at J Pervis Talent Agency praised the 16-year-old as ‘an amazing young talent, whose devotion, enthusiasm, and promise shone brilliantly inside our industry.’.
They stated: “Over the last ten years, he has made significant contributions to the spirit of our organization, and his passing leaves a vacuum that will be felt deeply by all of us.
“Hudson was more than a talent; he was a source of inspiration, touching so many people’s lives with his excitement, friendliness, grin, and natural ability to light up a room and never meet a stranger. Everyone will remember him with tremendous fondness.”
