How do you wish to spend your retirement years? Why couldn’t they just go to a tiny town and live among their greatest friends? A group of Texas spouses decided over 30 years ago to assure themselves a lifetime of group holidays despite their hectic lives and schedules. The couples decided to establish their own tiny village in order to be closer to one another and to nature.

They’ve established a community outside of Austin, Texas, dubbed the “Llano Exit Strategy,” which consists of four tiny houses overlooking the Llano River. Over a few glasses of wine and meals, they discussed their possibilities. According to Outside, their alternatives were purchasing a fleet of pricey Airstream trailers or purchasing a piece of property on the Texas shore, both of which are expensive and far away.
When they ultimately settled in one spot, they transformed into a more rational bunch. Because three of the four couples resided in Austin, their “exit strategy” had to take them within 90 minutes of the city. Otherwise, it would be difficult to visit and remain in touch. The living room must be large enough for the four spouses to spend as much time together as possible.
Each pair also needs their own bedrooms and toilets, and the residence should be as environmentally friendly as possible. The hunt was conducted by Jodi Zipp and her husband, Fred. They wanted a location where they could spend a lot of time together eating, drinking, and hanging out, but also where folks could get away from the group when they needed to, according to Jodi.

The tiny-house fad was growing in areas such as Vermont, California, and Colorado. Because of the 2008 crisis and the belief that less is more when it comes to living places, miniature homes, which are typically less than 1,000 square feet, were designed to seem stylish online and then constructed in real life. It was a fortunate accident when the group acquired 10 acres of property on the Llano River in March 2011 and spoke with builder Matt Garcia about future designs.

Garcia displayed a little hamlet with modest, eco-friendly dwellings to demonstrate that not everything in Texas has to be larger. Continue reading to learn more about the best friends’ little town:
