One man couldn’t conceal his amazement when he saw his wife in a daring bridal gown on their wedding day.
Tyler Dufford, 31, beamed and exclaimed “Yes!” as he flung his hands up in the air, watching Amanda Dufford, 32, walk down the aisle. As Amanda approached, Tyler bowed down with his hands on his knees and his mouth open. He kept his captivated face till she approached the altar, covering his jaw-dropped lips with both hands at one point.
“My reaction was a combination of two distinct feelings.” Tyler describes his reaction to People, which has now gone viral on TikTok. He asserts that he received information that Amanda planned to wear makeup at the wedding. This concerned him because he had seldom seen her apply cosmetics in their nearly six-year relationship.
“I was terrified that she wouldn’t resemble Amanda when she emerged from those doors,” he said. “Because cosmetics can do that. But the bridesmaids did an excellent job of keeping it extremely modest and basic, such that it still looked like my now-wife. As I cheered, I was relieved that she still looked like herself. Then, as I laughed about it, I said to myself, “I don’t know why I was terrified of it, so I just laughed it off.”
Tyler couldn’t see Amanda’s wedding dress at first since a photographer was obscuring his view. Tyler was stunned when he saw her crimson gown.
“When I stood back up and the photographer had stepped out of the way, my jaw just dropped,” Tyler tells me. “I was astounded by how stunning she looked and how appropriate that outfit was for her. And I honestly sat there, thinking, ‘That is my wife.'”

Amanda will remember Tyler’s reaction forever.
“I was just like, ‘Yep, that’s my husband,'” Amanda told people. “I was so happy to see him at the end, and we’re still so in love; it felt like we were meeting again, and I couldn’t wait. I couldn’t help but want to rush up there, but I’m still trying to remember how to walk.
She continues, “I was smiling so much, but I was also fighting to hold back tears from his reaction and how gorgeous he looked. It was a nerve-wracking experience, and all I can do is look at him and realize how happy we are. “We’re doing it.”
The pair, who wore custom-made “Mr.” and “Mrs.” black Converse with the words “Always” and “And Forever” on the soles, married on October 19 at The Castle at Wildwood Gardens in Georgia. “Victorian, Gothic, Viking-esque” décor enhanced the picturesque, fairytale-like forest environment.
During the ceremony, Tyler and Amanda participated in an old Celtic rite of binding their hands together with rope to symbolize their commitment to each other. This is where the term “tying the knot” originated.
Amanda explains why red is a significant color in Viking culture.
“We aren’t traditional. Tyler knew I wasn’t wearing white, but he wasn’t sure what I was wearing,” she adds. “It was just a more fitting choice for us, and it significantly enhanced the Gothic atmosphere,” she continues. I fell in love with it for two years after trying on numerous other outfits.
The couple’s initial encounter was also unique. Before the heavy metal music fans fell in love, Amanda accidentally damaged Tyler’s nose in a mosh pit during a performance in March 2019.
“We were in the mob, moshing when I caught sight of something in the corner of my eye: ‘This guy is funny.'” He is wearing a chicken onesie.” Amanda recalls seeing Tyler for the first time. “And I genuinely came on to him, just fooling around with him as we were dancing and moshing during Of Mice and Men,” Amanda recalled. I approached him and simply gave him the “I like you” look. I wanted to continue, but he remained silent.
She goes on, “We go our own ways and wait for the band, Nothing More, to start, and off to the side, he ends up directly behind me. And I became quite thrilled. I grasp his wrist and shout, ‘Pit.’ I take him into the crowd and look for the best area to start moshing. I pushed him into the crowd and gave him a straight elbow and shoulder to the sternum.
One thing led to another, and the two physically clashed.
“Somehow I ended up breaking his nose, and he busted my lip,” she claims.
The newlyweds continued their fantasy romance by honeymooning in a Hobbit-inspired little cottage at the Mountain Shire in Tennessee.
