Here, blind audition takes on a whole new meaning.
Vernon Barnard is 22 years old and from Strand, South Africa. He lost his sight at an early age due to glaucoma, but that didn’t stop him from pursuing his dream of being a full-time musician or vocalist. It’s terrible to see images of him as a small child with large, lovely blue eyes.

Several blind artists have gained global recognition in the music industry. Musicians include Stevie Wonder, Blind Willie McTell, Andrea Bocelli, Roy Orbison, and Ray Charles. They were all born in the northern hemisphere.
Vernon faces a significant challenge: how can he become the first person in his hemisphere to accomplish this? Therefore, he decided to audition for The Voice in South Africa.

Today’s video shows his audition, in which he selects the song “Story of My Life” by One Direction. Vernon’s parents adore him; they are his biggest and most loyal admirers, cheering him on wherever he goes. Just look at his performance; he truly went for it on stage, and you’ll be in tears watching him.
If you’re wondering why the man in the gray shirt is shedding tears, let me explain. His father was also blind! This explains why he became so emotional.

Bobby van Jaarsveld, one of the judges, was the first to turn around for Vernon, and he couldn’t keep his tears; he was practically weeping out loud. Lira, the other judge, couldn’t control her tears either, and she joined him. It’s a must-watch video.
Please share this fantastic rendition with your friends and family.
