You can never fully comprehend what another person is going through. Be nice at all times! The following poignant story exemplifies how even the most modest act of kindness may have a huge impact.

Lindsey Sheely, from West Warwick, Rhode Island, ordered pizza one evening. As she left the home to pick up her dinner, her two-year-old son Cohen chased her down and hugged the delivery man. When the toddler merely extended his arms toward Cohen, the latter was delighted to embrace him back.

Lindsey chose to post a touching moment filmed by a camera in her doorbell on social media to inspire hope. She had no clue how much the deliveryman valued her son’s gesture.

After her video went viral, a guy named Ryan Catterson messaged her, offering to be the delivery man her toddler had snuggled with. He requested permission to share her footage. She was happy he wanted to do it, of course, but when she checked his profile, she discovered that he had lost his 16-year-old daughter, Alyssa, the week before.

It impacted me since, after losing my daughter the week before, it appeared like she was still present. “It meant a lot to me,” Ryan told WLNE.

Lindsay termed it “a little blessing from God” when she saw the effect her son’s embrace had on Ryan. “Ryan brought our pizza for a reason, and I believe in divine intervention,” she told me.

This grieving parent received the perfect embrace at the perfect time. “It was almost as if the universe or my daughter had sent it to me,” he told NBC 10.

Lindsay adds, “You never know what people are going through.” This is an excellent example, and we absolutely agree with it.
