The man who went viral as ’70lb baby’ on the notorious Jerry Springer program has revealed what he looks like today

Almost three decades ago, a 70-pound infant appeared on The Jerry Springer Show; now, he looks entirely different.

Obviously, ‘Baby Zach,’ aka Zach Strenkert, looks different because he rose to stardom when he was just 17 months old and is now five days away from turning 30.

Zach was born with Simpson-Golabi-Behmel Syndrome (SGBS), a rare genetic disorder that causes rapid and excessive growth. During infancy, he grew an inch and gained a pound every week.

Without the funds to investigate why Zach was so different from other newborns, his parents chose to appear on Jerry Springer’s program in an attempt to obtain a solid explanation—which would have been expensive if they hadn’t.

Zach reflected on his moment of fame, telling The Mirror, “They positioned me as distinct, which simply alienated me from everyone else. They recognized me as the youngster who appeared on television.

“People today wonder what it was like.” They assumed my mother was after celebrity, which was not the case.

“We simply sought assistance from geneticists, a task that proved challenging due to our insurance.”

“We didn’t actually earn a lot of take-home cash when everything was done.” It was purely to ensure that her child was safe.”

There was always a fear that this adorable infant boy, who first appeared on the program as a toddler in 1996, would struggle due to his weight, which was equivalent to a seven-year-old when he was just one.

At his peak, the 6ft 5 behemoth weighed 485 pounds, but after Covid-19 struck and the United States imposed lockdowns, he took the time to get in shape and dropped all the way to 200 pounds.

However, he has just bulked up again and is toning and adding muscle to his body.

In May of last year, he said on Twitter, “I’ve like totally matched my fat and muscle pound for pound; I’m built like a goddamn tank now.” “I’ll post an update eventually.”

He returned to the stage before Covid, and the audience loved him and his sense of humor.

“Actually, I’m a competitive player now,” he informed me. ”

“I simply played it because I enjoyed it; it’s difficult for me to do certain things due to my size. I am a large individual, but I am proud of my size; I am the most attractive fat man around.”

Then, during the intermission, his mother told Springer, “I carried him until he was a hundred pounds; now it’s his turn to carry Mama.”
