Alexandra Stamps, a fifth-grade teacher, did not hesitate to invite her kids to be her bridesmaids and groomsmen on her wedding day.
After nearly a year of dating, the Science and Technology Elementary School teacher from Wichita, Kansas, married fiancé Mason McDowell in July.
Mason, a third-grade teacher, also wanted his kids to be a part of their special day.
The couple not only invited their pupils to their wedding but also requested that they be bridesmaids and groomsmen.
“I adore them and consider them to be a part of my life.” “I want them up there with me because they’re my biggest supporters,” Alexandra told the Wichita Eagle.
Alexandra videotaped the moment she asked her kids and uploaded it to TikTok, where it soon went viral, garnering over 19 million views.
Alexandra opens the video by declaring, “I’m about to invite my students to my wedding.”
The video then cuts to her in her classroom, telling her students, “Okay, so I have a pretty important thing to ask you guys.
“Khloe, Mary, Reagan, Angelina, Esmeralda, Lucy, Lily, Bella, and Harley—will you guys be my junior bridesmaids at my wedding?” She inquires, and the females say, “Yes!”
“Bryland, Max, Eric, Emilio, Kayden, Will, Conner, Jessie, Jose, and Sebastian—will you guys be my junior groomsmen?” She then inquires, to which the lads promptly respond, “Yes!”
Alexandra stated that their students were overjoyed to be asked and that six or seven of them burst into tears.
“We spend over forty hours a week with them, and we both really love our students so much,” Alexandra explained as to why she and her husband inquired about their students.
“So I thought it would be fun to include them in the festivities rather than just have them in the audience.”
“I just want to share this special part of my life with them.” I want them to be a part of it because I’m so proud of their hard work this year and the fact that they’ve not only survived but flourished in the epidemic, watching them grow as individuals this year, they deserve to be up there with me.”
Alexandra stated that she initially consulted with the children’s parents to ensure that it was alright for them to participate before gifting the ladies false pearl necklaces and the guys colored sunglasses. They all got rainbow-striped lollipops when she proposed to the pupils.
