This is the quietest place on Earth, where no one has lasted longer than 55 minutes. It’s quite scary…

Many individuals believe that they like peace, but in actuality, severe silence causes bodily discomfort.

So much so that no one has lasted an hour inside the world’s quietest chamber.

Microsoft designed the anechoic chamber to be the quietest room in the world.

Microsoft now houses its headquarters in Redmond, Washington, following a two-year design process.

While it may appear to be the ideal location to cuddle up with a book and a cup of tea, few individuals can tolerate it for long.

Consider this scenario: you’re in a quiet room, and someone next to you starts eating loudly.

All you can hear are their churning noises of biting, chewing, and swallowing. That sounds dreadful, doesn’t it?

This place is so silent that you can hear your blood flowing, your heart pumping, your ears ringing, and your bones grinding together.

Does it still sound like a pleasant place?

Hundraj Gopal of Microsoft told CNN that “the longest continuous time anyone has spent inside the chamber is about 55 minutes.”

Steve Orfield, who owns an anechoic chamber at Orfield Laboratories in Minnesota, told The Daily Mail that your body adjusts to the quiet atmosphere over time.

He continued, “You will hear your heart pumping, your lungs sometimes, and your stomach gurgling noisily. In the anechoic chamber, you are the sound.”

Because there are no external sounds, it is difficult to move your body.

Orfield said, “If you’re going to be in there for 30 minutes, sit in a chair.”

So, how does it work?

Six layers of concrete and steel, according to Gopal, Principal Human Factors Engineer, isolate the chamber from the outside.

The chamber contains an extremely high level of acoustic insulation, which may absorb up to 99.99 percent of echoes in the room.

It’s so powerful that exploding a balloon is scarcely noticeable.
Additionally, springs support the chamber and attenuate any vibrations.

Overall, it holds the Guinness World Record for the quietest site in the world, with a sound level 20 decibels below what humans can hear.

Researchers use the chamber to study new audio technology.

Gopal explains: “From measuring Xbox console fan noise, for example, or the components in a surface, some of the components make sounds—very low level—but they exist; we measure them in this clean environment, which is the purest form of recording without interference from the walls or the outside.”
