Making a unique DIY planter from tiles

Preparing the mold and pouring

Select a few sturdy cardboard boxes of the same size, taking into account the desired size of the planter. Place a layer of broken tiles at the bottom of each box. These can be pieces of various sizes and shapes. Then, prepare a mix of sand and cement in a 2:1 ratio, dilute it with water until it reaches a thick consistency similar to sour cream, and carefully pour this mixture over the tiles in the boxes. For added stability, you can embed a metal mesh in the mixture.

Putting the structure together

Once the mixture sets (after 1-2 days), carefully remove the ready-made slabs from the cardboard molds. Arrange them vertically to form a bottomless box, using bricks or stones for support. The joints between the slabs should be filled with a thick cement-sand mixture.

Installing PVC Pipes and Decorating

Prepare PVC pipes by cutting a small window into each one for simple attachment to the corners of the structure. Place the pipes in the corners and fill them with cement mixture, securing them with ropes.

Fill the inner space of the structure with wet sand, packing it down thoroughly. Pour a liquid cement mixture on top to create the bottom, and place thin pipes for drainage.

Finishing Touches

After a day, remove the PVC pipes and sand from the structure. Clean and prime the surface, then paint it and apply varnish after it dries.
