Beckham, a four-part docuseries on Netflix that analyzes David Beckham’s life and career, reveals rare personal moments between the soccer legend and his wife Victoria (aka Posh Spice), and one of those moments in particular is going viral.
The iconic incident in question has the former England soccer player yelling at his wife when she claims to have come from poor origins.
“We’re very working class,” Victoria says to an interviewer as she recalls her youth. David then interjects, “Be honest,” before asking his wife of 24 years to name the automobile her father transported her to school in.
“It’s not a simple answer; it depends,” the Spice Girl says before ultimately adding, “In the ’80s, my dad had a Rolls-Royce.” David, pleased with her response, says, “Thank you,” and walks out of the room.

Fans have been busy commenting on the couple’s now-famous dialogue, which has gone viral on TikTok. “The fact he was clearly listening at the door is hysterical,” one TikToker said, while another added, “I can’t stop laughing.” Posh Spice was given that moniker for a reason. “I adore her.”
But how aristocratic was Spice when she was younger? Victoria revealed to Vogue in 2017 that she grew up in the beautiful suburbs of Goffs Oak, Hertfordshire, an hour outside of London. Tony and Jackie Adams “made a killing in the 1980s boom,” according to the publication. In addition, as of 2023, the starting price of a Rolls-Royce automobile is £252,000 ($307,343).

Beckham on Netflix also covers the early days of David and Victoria’s relationship, when they had to conceal their love. David describes in the documentary going to tremendous efforts to see his future wife, who was one-fifth of the world’s biggest female band at the time: “I didn’t care when I saw her, how much I saw her; if it was me driving down to London to see her for seven minutes, I did it.”
David and Victoria later became engaged in 1998 and married in the summer of 1999. The couple currently has four children: sons Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz, as well as daughter Harper.
While there are plenty of lighthearted moments, Beckham also digs into some of the couple’s more difficult moments, such as David’s rumored affair with his former personal assistant.
“I honestly don’t know how we got through it,” Beckham admits in the documentary. “Victoria means the world to me. It was so distressing to witness her in pain. What we had was worthwhile to fight for.”
