Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff’s cause of death was formally verified three weeks after she was discovered dead in her Los Angeles home.

Her death certificate revealed on Tuesday, March 25, that she committed suicide at the age of 62 after suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to TMZ.

According to the certificate, a family member went to her residence to check on her after not hearing from her, and she was declared dead at the scene by paramedics on March 5. She has subsequently been cremated.

Pamela had daughters Taylor and Hayley with her ex-husband, David Hasselhoff, whom she married from 1989 to 2006.

In a statement to PEOPLE, the Baywatch actor claimed the family was “deeply saddened” by her loss. “We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time, but we kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through it.”

Taylor, 34, and Hayley, 32, paid homage to their mother on social media after her tragic passing. Taylor referred to her as “my best friend, my whole heart, my everything ♥️.”

“I’d do anything in the world to hug you again, my forever angel,” she said on Instagram, describing the “pain” as “unbearable.”

“I promise to make you proud & celebrate you every day,” she added.

Her sister Hayley also paid homage, writing on Instagram Stories, “My heart is shattered, yet somehow feels whole knowing you will always be my best friend, my heart, and my entire world.”

“This longing is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, but I want you to know that I will love you in every way. “I’m choosing to be strong for you to make you proud,” she said.

“Taylor and I are keeping strong, carrying the pride you instilled in us and safeguarding one another, knowing that the link you taught us to treasure will always be with us. This unshakable link will be with us forever. We’ll make you proud, I promise.”
