Tom Hanks’ son expresses discontent over his upbringing…

Chet Hanks did not get the childhood he desired. Despite being the son of Tom Hanks, generally regarded as “America’s Dad,” and one of the nicest people in Hollywood, Chet, 31, stated that he lacked a “strong male role model” throughout his adolescence. Chet battled during his adolescence as the son of two celebrity parents—Tom Hanks has been married to his wife Rita Wilson for the last thirty-three years—as he fought to emerge from the shadows of his incredibly successful parents, both of whom are sixty-five.

Chet is not the only child of Hanks and Wilson. Truman, 25, is also a member of the family. Nonetheless, Chet, who made waves recently for his impersonation of a Jamaican accent, thought that his upbringing was severely faulty. Hanks also has two more children from a prior relationship: Colin, 43, and Elizabeth Ann, 38.

Chet talks to his YouTube fans about growing up with celebrity parents in a video. He asserted that “I love my parents” and “wouldn’t want any different parents,” but he added that growing up with Hanks and Wilson was “a double-edged sword.”

Chet admitted that he had “contempt” from many people since he is Tom Hanks’s son. He also found it difficult to handle all of the individuals who he said were continuously “s***-talking,” as well as the “d***-riders” who wanted to profit from an affiliation with the celebrities’ son. Nonetheless, Chet stated that he grew up without “a strong male role model.”

Chet wishes that someone had told him as a youngster, “Hey, bro, f*** these people.” They are simply envious of you.”

“My experience was even more complicated because, on top of fame already being toxic, I wasn’t even famous,” he continued. You know, I was simply the kid of someone famous, so I hadn’t done anything to deserve any form of respect, and it produced a lot of scorn for me.’

Chet stated that his father had been “on this pedestal” his whole life and that others “assumed” Chet was “a really arrogant, entitled, spoiled brat even though I really wasn’t.”

As a young man, “people would make up their minds about me before they even got a chance to know me, and it was extremely hard to break down their walls, so I encountered a lot of disdain, a lot of animosity, and a lot of negativity because everybody was just prepared to hate my guts.”

Despite Chet’s criticism of Tom Hanks’ parenting style—or lack thereof—adherents backed the renowned actor on social media.

“There’s literally nothing you can say, Chet, that will ever make me believe Thomas Jeffrey Hanks, by way of Oakland, California, didn’t do the absolute best job he could with you given the outcome.”

“Tom Hanks has another son from his first marriage,” another Twitter user remarked. He’s perfectly fine and well-adjusted. I’m curious what the issue is with this one, given that the parents are still married and not divorced. “I’m just a spoiled, entitled brat.”
