J.D. served in the Marines before obtaining an undergraduate degree and then attending law school, where he met Usha. She said that they attended classes together and became acquaintances throughout their first semester before dating.
The second lady admitted that J.D. preferred her first but said, “I wasn’t too far behind.” The pair studied together, engaged in numerous activities, and spent a significant amount of time together. She stated that being in the Marines was “very transformational for him.”

The second lady stressed that her husband benefits from having a solid family support system. Having loved ones waiting for him when he returns home and understanding himself are crucial to his well-being.
When asked what she wishes the world to know about her husband, Usha said carefully, “I believe I want people to know that he is a real person. He is a wonderful parent. He is a terrific spouse. He is my best buddy. “He’s funny.” She also joked that he has “all sorts of dorky interests” that people his age can identify with.

J.D.’s wife also characterized him as a “really good person,” hoping that others will listen to his remarks and appreciate their meaning and purpose.
