As the games began, an ecstatic Meghan Markle turned to Instagram to post a video of veterans competing in various events from previous Invictus Games. In 2014, Prince Harry launched the Invictus Games for wounded, injured, and ill service members and women. Harry was motivated to take this courageous action after attending the 2013 US Warrior Games, a sporting event for disabled military men.
Seeing how the competition aided their recuperation, he was inspired to establish the Invictus Games, which is today a global celebration of the bravery of wounded, injured, and sick soldiers and women.

The popular games, which include swimming, wheelchair curling, and indoor rowing, will attract 500 contestants from 23 countries. The tournament will also feature winter sports for the first time.
Harry was greeted warmly as a hero during the opening ceremony.
