He also joked about needing to adjust his walking and talking style now that he is officially the “Sexiest Man Alive.” Gwen Stefani, his girlfriend at the time, was plainly proud—and equally amused.

What causes it to function so well? Shelton doesn’t pretend to be someone he isn’t. He’s still the laid-back Oklahoman who enjoys country music, camo, and a good beer — but with a tongue-in-cheek attitude that makes admirers adore him even more.

Critics may have questioned Blake’s choice, but he demonstrated that sex is more than simply beauty; it’s about charisma, confidence, and the capacity to laugh at yourself. What if Shelton wants to keep using that title? We say let him—because the world could always use a bit more rural charm and comedy.
