Alan Jackson, set to receive the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award, is confirmed to attend the celebration once again. However, organizers are likely hoping for a smooth appearance this time.
In 2016, reports say Alan exited the ceremony during Beyonce and the Dixie Chicks’ performance, marking the CMA Awards’ 50th anniversary. Alan had expressed his disapproval of pop stars appearing at country music award events beforehand.

When asked about his expectations for the CMAs’ 50th anniversary gala, Alan bluntly stated, “Yeah, they may play some real country music.” He criticized the television station’s attempt to boost ratings by featuring non-country artists.
Despite Beyonce not being a country music singer, many enjoyed the performance. Alan, feeling his preferences ignored, left the ceremony in frustration.

Witnesses reported Alan “stood up from the front row and walked out in the middle of the performance,” according to Billboard.
This year, Alan may not be pleased either, as Hollywood star Jessica Chastain and Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts are set to present an award.

However, the 2022 ceremony promises a lineup of country stars, including Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs, and more, who will entertain the star-studded crowd.
