Whoopi Goldberg’s presence on The View has raised retirement speculation after she appeared ‘tired’ and ‘uninterested’ on recent show

Fans of The View have been discussing Whoopi Goldberg’s potential future on the chat show following reports that she appeared ‘uninterested’ during a recent taping.

Goldberg, now 68, has been a significant presence on The View since joining as a host and moderator in 2007, alongside co-hosts like Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro.

While continuing to provide her insights on a variety of topics, some fans have recently remarked that Goldberg seemed ‘bored’ during a particular episode.

On April 15, one viewer tweeted: “@TheView I absolutely love The View but Whoopie sitting there uninterested is getting old. Love you Whoopie but come on…”

The next day, another fan posted: “@TheView why is @whoopie_g the host and looks bored all the time so dry!! [what the hell].”

These comments coincided with claims from an insider familiar with the show, who told The Sun that Goldberg appeared ‘tired’ during the April 17 episode taping.

According to the insider: “Whoopi walked into the room with slouchy pink overalls, a white dress shirt and clog shoes. She was very underdressed compared to the other hosts who were wearing dresses or pencil skirts.”

The source also suggested that Goldberg seemed ‘uninterested’ in conversations and lacked the same upbeat mood as her co-hosts.

“She was slouching and rested her head on her hand at times,” the insider continued. “After she was done reading her note cards, she would rip them up into pieces and hand them to a crew member, which is something the other co-hosts weren’t doing.”

While some viewers have called for Goldberg to leave The View, she previously addressed retirement rumors in October, stating: “I’ve done nothing but retire. I’ve been retired my whole career, so I kind of like that, yeah.”

Goldberg also indicated that she has no plans to step back, emphasizing her commitment to her contract. She mentioned her longstanding practice of taking Fridays off and using the time for other projects.
