Willie Nelson rescued 70 horses for a surprising reason…

Luck Ranch, located 30 miles outside of Austin, Texas, is home to some extremely lucky horses. Several of the ranch’s 70 horses were formerly destined for slaughterhouses, but their fate was reversed thanks to Willie Nelson.

The horses were doomed to die since they had nowhere else to go. They were fortunate to catch the attention of the country superstar, who stepped up to the plate. Willy Nelson has given the horses a new lease on life on his 700-acre ranch.

These horses are undeniably lucky, and Nelson fully agrees.

“My horses are most likely the luckiest horses on the planet.” They are hand-fed twice a day, and the last thing they remember is being ready to go to camp, so they are happy horses.”

Willie even addressed a letter to the United States Senate, requesting that the torture of horses be prohibited in America. His horses, the Rs, reside on a 700-acre property in Texas Hill Country and are free to wander. Willie claims he spends much of his time on the ranch when he isn’t on the road performing music. He refers to his property as “Luck” and says with a smile:

“When you’re here, you’re in luck, and when you’re not, you’re out of luck.”

Despite being at an age when the bulk of folks are putting their feet up in a retirement residence, this fantastic country music celebrity travels over 200 days each year. Nelson enjoys nothing more than driving his ancient pick-up truck around Luck Cattle Ranch when he is not visiting.

Willie’s love of horses has even found its way into his songs. His song, Ride Me Back Home, expresses his passion for horses. He just released another horse-themed song, We Are The Cowboys, which includes several horse scenes in the music video.

Willie is still singing his treasured songs to his devoted followers at the age of 87. These horses are now having a great life, free of their difficult pasts, thanks to Nelson.
