A notice displayed on the front window of a Dairy Queen restaurant in Kewaskum, Wisconsin, has attracted attention and is currently circulating online. The sign boldly proclaims the restaurant’s disregard for political correctness and emphasizes its use of holiday greetings such as “Merry Christmas,” “Happy Easter,” and “God Bless America.” It also expresses support for veterans by offering them free sundaes, displaying the US flag, and expressing gratitude for their service on Veterans Day.
The owner of the franchise, Kevin Scheunemann, explained that the sign was posted nearly four years ago to transparently showcase his and the staff’s commitment to serving God and the nation. Scheunemann mentioned that the sign was a response to a customer’s complaint about Christian music being played in the restaurant, and since then, it has not caused any further issues.

The sign gained recent attention when an Oregonian tourist shared a picture on Facebook expressing concerns about its perceived exclusivity. The initial post generated significant interest before being taken down.
While some individuals support the message on the sign, others have criticized the person who shared the image and voiced their opinions. On the other hand, local business owners support Scheunemann’s decision, asserting that customers are free to leave the restaurant if they disagree with its principles.

In the small town of Kewaskum, residents seem to accept the sign without questioning it, interpreting it as an expression of the owner’s beliefs. Dairy Queen officially stated that the sign reflects the views of the individual owner and that the company does not endorse Scheunemann’s approach. The company emphasized its expectation for all franchisees and staff to treat every customer with dignity and respect, regardless of their religious beliefs.
