Wishlist of little boy for his adoptive parents will make you get emotional…

When a little angel from Oklahoma paid a visit to the parents who adopted him, he brought them a letter that would make them cry because his biological parents had mistreated him and placed him for adoption.

Child abuse occurs when a parent or caregiver, via action or omission, causes damage, death, emotional anguish, or the threat of substantial harm to a child. Neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, exploitation, and emotional abuse are all examples of child maltreatment.

DREAMCATCHERS FOR ABUSED CHILDREN, INC. is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization committed to the prevention of child abuse and neglect. The group’s mission is to “educate the public on all aspects of child abuse, such as symptoms, intervention, prevention, statistics, reporting, and helping victims locate the proper resources necessary to achieve a full recovery.”

The organization recently published a letter written by one of the children, who was abused by both of his alcoholic parents. It’s painful to see a child who has never experienced real love and joy from his biological parents. This child has only known violence, neglect, and starvation. Some people are devils…

One of the neighbors saw something terrible happening at a nearby house and felt sorry for the small child who was inside. He decided to inform Child Protective Services.

When the cops came, they took the child to the Dreamcatchers for Abused Children organization, which assured that those heinous atrocities never happened again to the child.

It brings tears to my eyes to see what he wrote on a scrap of paper after the organization found the child an ideal and appropriate home.

This boy’s wish is for commonplace things… Here’s what he had to say:

“Things I want for my family: food and water.”
Please refrain from hitting on me.
A house with running water and power.
I’m on the lookout for love.
Mom and Dad never disagree.
I have no interest in drugs.
Please do not cause any harm to my dogs.
Help with academics.
Very good, clean clothes.
There are no lice present. There isn’t a single bug in the house.
Remove the clutter.
Make and cover the bed.
Please do not sell any of my toys.
Just treatment.
Don’t let yourself become inebriated.
The house has a television.
Permit me to keep my school supplies.
Lovely shoes.
I made my own comb soap. Lovely house with a safe and a heated coat.
Toothbrush.”

You, the reader, very certainly have everything this young child wishes for. The moral of the story is to never take anything for granted. Your current life is someone else’s wish list.
