A lady posted a video on TikTok asking viewers to estimate her age. Nothing could have prepared her for the replies she received, which she described as ‘crazy.’
Emily Jane shared a video of herself without cosmetics or social media filters, asking others to estimate her age. She was surprised to learn that some people assumed she was in her forties, fifties, or even sixties!

“I’m 56; my guess is that you are close to 47,” one person remarked. “I’m 42. “I’d guess you’re around 51,” another individual wondered.

Someone wrote, “I’m 29, and I’m really attractive at 42.”

Emily’s favorite response came from a reader who mistook her age for 58 years. “Do I really look like I’m nearing sixty? As if I’m nearing retirement age? “Do I really look that old?” she said in a follow-up video.

Many people assumed she was in her thirties, with a handful believing she was still in her twenties. The predictions covered a broad range. When a woman asks the internet to guess her age, she receives unexpected responses. Details in the comments 👇.

Emily, on the other hand, was taken aback by the number of people who assumed she was so elderly and eventually disclosed the reality.

“I turned 36 last week, so only just 36,” stated the woman.

And she is well aware of the reason people assume she is older: she has stopped dyeing her naturally gray hair.

“I’ve had grey hair for quite some time, and it’s a natural grey.” I started going grey around the age of 19, and people assume that because I have grey hair, I am over 50,” she remarked in her video. She expressed surprise that many assumed she was older despite her gray hair.

She stated in the initial video that her eye bags were the consequence of restless nights due to having a newborn kid. She also stated that she wore no makeup or filters, which may have given folks pause, but she believed she looked completely normal.

“I’ve never gotten any work done. “This is my face, and this is how I look, and I believe this is how most people my age would look without a filter,” she explained.

She hypothesized in her video that people’s estimations about her age had less to do with her and more to do with how social media has conditioned people to perceive women. She claims that most people nowadays have no idea what a woman looks like naturally since social media promotes cosmetic treatments and the usage of filters to modify features.

“I believe it is critical to remember that what you see on social media, television, or in publications, as people have stated for years, is not genuine. “What’s your take?” she inquired. “Do you think we have a warped perception of age based on what we’ve been exposed to on social media?” she was asking the audience.

Some people disagreed with her, claiming that it was only her gray hair that was making her look older.

“It’s 36 going on 60.” “It’s probably your hair that ages you, but you’re still very beautiful,” one user said. “I believe you look your age. I believe it is a common misconception that white hair only appears as we age.” They can’t get past it,” another added in an argument.

“It’s only the hair that ages you. “Your skin looks great,” someone commented.
Another individual said, “I think people get confused by a younger person feeling comfortable growing their gray hair out.”
