A recent occurrence on an airline has ignited an internet discussion.
Tammy Nelson, a TikTok user, detailed her story when a mother requested that she give up her window seat for her two children.

Nelson’s TikTok post, which raised the question “What would you do?” has been seen over 2.7 million times.

“I got on the plane, and a woman was sitting in my seat, and when I mentioned it to her, she said, ‘Oh, you want to sit here?'” Nelson explained. I thought we could swap because these are my kids’ seats (she gestures to the two next to mine).”

Nelson was willing to move seats, but only if there was another window seat available.

The mother, on the other hand, preferred Nelson to take the center seat.
“She points to the row behind us and says, ‘Mine is right there.’ (It’s the middle seat.)” Nelson noted this in her article.

Nelson also added some background to the event, stating that she “desperately needed sleep” on the trip owing to a lack of sleep the night before and a 500-person presentation.

Nelson also remarked that the mother’s two children, who seemed to be 11 and 15, were within arm’s reach of their mother from the middle seat in the row behind.
Despite this, the mother “proceeded to complain to the person next to her for at least 15 minutes loud enough for me to hear. “But the woman did defend me countless times. It was quite kind, and I much appreciated it because I was feeling extremely bad.”
