Woman sees what she believes is joyful bird in the wild, then discovers her mistake…

Nature never fails to astound us. For many people, being outside serves as both physical and mental rehabilitation. The air, the freshness the trees fill our lungs with, and the gorgeous colors combine to create a fantastic experience that allows us to relax and gather strength for the rest of the week.

Kym Beechey is an Australian lady who enjoys spending her days outside. She likes nature’s beauty and never passes up an opportunity to photograph the breathtaking landscapes she frequently encounters.

She stumbled upon what she thought was a newborn tawny frogmouth (an owl-like bird) while walking through the forest one day.

She was in a rush to get her phone out and capture a picture of the cute bird. When she zoomed in, she noticed it wasn’t a bird at all but a banksia pod, which are typically amusing-looking pods that come out of banksia trees and have a distinct appearance.

These trees are mostly found in southern Western Australia, although they may also be found in New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. Their pods are sometimes likened to pine cones.

The pods break open, typically in the heat of forest fires, and this is how the seeds are released.

When she realized she had made a ‘mistake,’ Kim laughed and wanted to share the snapshot of what she thought was a bird for others to see.

Did you fall for it as well?
