Ulia Wendell, a 23-year-old Polish lady, made international news in 2023 after claiming to be Madeleine McCann, the British youngster who inexplicably disappeared from a Portuguese vacation in 2007.
Her bombshell charges prompted widespread outrage, with many rejecting them as a fabrication. However, the situation has taken another unexpected turn. Julia requested assistance on social media through the account @IamMadeleineMcCann, specifically requesting communication with Maddie’s parents, Kate and Gerry McCann.
She used the claimed physical similarities as evidence and even appeared on Dr. Phil to present her case. However, after receiving tremendous response, including death threats, she withdrew her statements and apologized to the McCanns.
During her treatment, Julia discovered that her early memories were sporadic, which led her to question her adoption status. When Julia approached her family members, they ignored her allegations, so she began searching missing people websites.

“I never intended to hurt anyone, including the McCanns,” Julia claimed. “I really wanted to know who I am.”
She added that she would change the outcome if she could. “I would never use social media. It’s capable of destroying you. DNA test findings change everything up.
But now, the case of Julia Wendell, sometimes known as Julia Faustyna or Julia Wandelt, has taken another turn.
According to the Daily Mail, the 23-year-old claims she took a DNA test, and the findings were allegedly analyzed by a “world-renowned expert” who compared them to DNA from the crime scene of Madeleine McCann’s 2007 disappearance in Portugal.
This unidentified expert supposedly stated that the findings “strongly suggest” Gerry McCann is her father. She has also utilized her own social media account to broadcast the “results” of the newest DNA test, which she says Kate and Gerry McCann declined to take part in.
Adding to the issue, the unidentified expert purportedly claimed that Julia’s DNA is a “perfect match” with samples retrieved from the holiday flat where Madeleine McCann went missing in 2007.

Aside from the DNA findings, she claims that scientists evaluated her eyes, teeth, and voice, matching them to those of Madeleine, a 3-year-old who vanished from her bed in Praia da Luz on the night of May 3, nearly 18 years ago. Dr. Monte Miller, a forensic specialist from Loma Linda University in California, reviewed the findings.
“The simple answer is that the suspect is not the definitive source of the DNA in the evidence,” according to Dr. Miller. “However, the match is stronger than what I would expect from pure coincidence, and there is a specific pattern that suggests an almost certain family connection.”
McCann and Wendell families refuse DNA testing.
Despite the alarming results, neither Julia’s Polish parents nor the McCanns are ready to undergo a DNA test to finally settle the matter.
This current disclosure contradicts previous assertions by private investigator Dr. Fia Johansson, who published Ms. Wandelt’s DNA findings in 2023, confirming that she was, in fact, entirely Polish. Julia’s parents say she is their legitimate daughter and is unrelated to the missing British youngster.
Madeleine McCann’s disappearance remains one of the world’s most notorious unsolved mysteries. Kate and Gerry McCann, Madeleine’s parents, have long claimed that she was taken after leaving her and her brothers alone in their holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, to eat at a nearby restaurant.
