Taking the lead on Celtic Thunder’s live rendition of “A Bird Without Wings,” the youthful kid left everyone in awe. Celtic Thunder’s lead singer, George Donaldson, accompanied Damian, providing a sonorous counterweight to the youthful singer.

The uplifting traditional music of Celtic Thunder, combined with the outstanding voices of Damien and Donaldson, creates a truly stunning performance. We are confident in claiming that there are very few singers that come in as complete a package as Damien does at the age of 14, as he also exudes a calm and confident manner on stage that makes him appear right at home.

However, the band adapted the performance from their 2007 show Live From Ireland. Fans were really thrilled with the performance, leaving comments like “Beautiful, touching song. What a captivating voice from such a young man. Lovely. It brought a tear to my eye” and “This performance gives me chills every time I see it!”

Damien has appeared in several hit videos with Celtic Thunder. Another popular video displaying the exceptional vocalist is his live version of the classic Irish ballad “Buachaill On Eirne,” which he sang with Celtic Thunder in Ontario in 2015. Damien was 23 years old when he performed the Gaelic language song, and it demonstrates his growth as a voice over time.

Damian McGinty, 32, is a vocalist from Derry, Northern Ireland, who grew up in a Catholic home. He joined Celtic Thunder when he was 14, making his performance of “A Bird Without Wings” all the more astounding given his inexperience with the group at the time. Damian first played the role of a child soprano in Celtic Thunder. His voice gradually changed to baritone, although he preserved the capacity to sing in the tenor range. Readers might be interested to learn that Damian has also achieved success as an actor. In the audition for The Glee Project reality TV, he finished in the top 12 out of 40,000 aspirants.
