The mom managed to remain with the infant for about 15 minutes and then put him up for adoption. She had no prospect of ever seeing her son again. But a surprise call from a stranger altered everything.
Brenda Van Sykle, from Texas, was just 16 when she gave birth to her first child. She remained with her kid for approximately 15 minutes and then delivered him to a nurse, who brought the youngster to the section for rejected children. Remembering what occurred to her in 1975, Brenda always thought that she had done the right thing. She was too young and inexperienced, and without the assistance of her family, she simply would not have been able to rear a child. But she never left feeling sorry for what she had done.

A few years later, Brenda got married, got a job on television, and then continued her career in the public relations section of the Arlington Police Department. Her life proceeded on as normal until one day the bell rang in the home. “My name is Wes Fenner, and I’m calling you from New Orleans,” the stranger introduced himself. Then the guy proceeded to ask Brenda highly intimate questions regarding the events of 45 years ago. The talk turned out to be uncomfortable and a touch weird, but the lady nevertheless agreed to meet with the caller.
Two weeks later, Brenda was standing in the parking lot of the hotel and was expecting to meet a stranger when she suddenly heard, “Mom, it’s me.” The lady could scarcely stand on her feet. Tears ran down her face. In front of her stood a guy who looked very much like herself. It was like gazing into a mirror and seeing a younger version of herself. The boy and mother embraced and stood there for almost 20 minutes. Brenda stroked the tears flowing down Wes’s face, still not believing her eyes.
Then they began chatting and couldn’t stop talking for hours. It turned out that once upon a time Brenda tried to seek out information about her son but could not find any information about him. There were too few facts—only the date and place of birth.

It was also not easy for Wes to identify his original mother, particularly 45 years after his birth. He had not ventured to do this for many decades, not knowing what to say to her when they met.
In the USA, around 100 thousand children are given up for adoption every year. In Texas, there is a common register through which children and their biological parents may discover one another. But Wes went the other way: he conducted a genetic blood test, and his DNA data matched another individual in the database— it turned out to be Brenda.
Brenda and Wes have a lot to learn about each other. The guy’s life ended nicely. He got into a lovely and loving household, obtained an education, and now works at a huge bank. Wes is married and raising a nine-year-old kid, whom he intends to introduce to his grandma shortly.
Mom and son found out they had a lot in common. They enjoy the same music and movies. They laugh at the same jokes, and Brenda says every time, “Oh, yes, this is my baby.” Their unexpected encounter marks the beginning of the route that Brenda and Wes now desire to take together.
