Gordon Ramsay finally speaks up about how the death of his son affected him and his family, saying that “no book guides you through that”

Gordon Ramsey is unquestionably one of the most well-known names in the culinary industry.

The TV chef, who has a total of 12 Michelin stars and now holds seven, has talked up the death of his unborn baby Rocky for the first time ever.

He described the pain he and his wife experienced, as well as how they dealt with their sadness.

Gordon, 56, told People, “Losing Rocky was really tough, and then just being there and watching the trauma unfold, it’s just this life-changing moment.”

When asked about his wife, the renowned chef replied, “Just watching the way that she dealt with it—and opened up with other friends and women in close proximity that could give advice—she was incredible straight after that.”

He continued: “There’s a lot of things that Tana’s done that we wouldn’t be here today without that strength.”

Gordon and Tana married in 1996 and have five children, the eldest of whom is Megan, born in 1999, and the youngest is Oscar, born in 2019. They also have fraternal twins Jack and Holly, as well as a daughter named Matilda.

Tana experienced a miscarriage at five months pregnant in 2016, but the pair did not divulge any additional information.

Tana then revealed her loss in an interview in 2020, shortly after Chrissy Teigen officially revealed the news of her own miscarriage. Tana’s decision to reveal the miscarriage was prompted by the public outrage directed at Teigen.

Tana expressed her support for Teigen and thanked her for her candor.

“I found it very emotional, and I thought she was incredible.” “I didn’t know the ins and outs of her situation when I read about it, but a lot of it sounded incredibly similar to mine,” Tana remarked.

“It brings it all back, and I think she was amazing for talking about it and posting the photos that she did,” she said.

Tana expressed her displeasure with people skirting the issue and pretending it never happened. “I have to be honest; when it happened to me, I found it really difficult when people would talk to me and not mention it because it was as if it never happened,” she added.

“All I wanted to do was talk about it with friends, with family, and with anyone who asked me about it because it was incredibly hard.”

She said, “You go from having a baby kick inside of you to suddenly it’s not there, and it was a really hard experience.”

Her spouse was by her side and provided unwavering support. “Gordon was amazing, and he’s always been one to talk about everything, and he was very good at sort of talking it out of me and never making me feel that, ‘Oh, you know, maybe we shouldn’t talk about it’.”

Gordon recently told People, “We wouldn’t have gotten an Oscar if we hadn’t lost Rocky.” There was no alternative—far from it—but it created a closeness between us that you’d never find in a regular environment.

“That’s the power of Tana,” he continued. “Just watching how she dealt with it—and opening up to other friends and women nearby who could offer advice—she was incredible right after that.” Their children “draw a lot of strength from their mother.”

We are deeply sorry for the suffering Gordon and Tana endured.
