Fans are in awe after seeing Katie Holmes with new curly hair for the Poker Face party

Katie Holmes wore curly hair at a reception on Tuesday, May 6, to promote the forthcoming second season of Peacock’s Poker Face.

Her messy ash brown hair perfectly matched her unique blue and white floral pantsuit. Holmes paired the ensemble with brown suede kitten heels and a brown suede fringe purse.

She posted an Instagram photo of the outfit before traveling to the party, writing, “Thank you @nlyonne for hosting me for season 2! Thank you, @briesarawelch, for styling this look. Thank you, @djquintero and @genevieveherr, for getting me ready♥️.” Brie Welch, Holmes’ longtime stylist, also styled the Dawson’s Creek actress for Glamour’s 2023 cover.

Holmes joins a star-studded season 2 cast of Poker Face, a character-driven murder-mystery series starring five-time Emmy nominee Natasha Lyonne as Charlie, a runaway casino worker with a talent for sniffing out liars and solving crimes. The program uses a case-of-the-week structure, which allows for a large ensemble cast.

Cynthia Erivo, Awkwafina, John Mulaney, and other cast members will also appear in season 2. In a statement from Peacock, series creator, writer, director, and producer Rian Johnson said, “From minor league baseball to big box retail, from funeral homes to alligator farms, and even a grade school talent show, Charlie navigates her crime-solving existential road trip with deadpan wit, human empathy, and her signature uncanny lie-detecting ability.”

Johnson commented on what fans may anticipate in season 2. “To bring Season 2 to life, we drew inspiration from American ’70s cinema, including works by Robert Altman, Bob Rafelson, and Peter Bogdanovich. But the backbone of our program is TV—the type of TV we grew up watching, episodic case-of-the-week treasures like Columbo, The Rockford Files, and Quantum Leap,” he explained.

Holmes’ most recent appearance was in Rare Objects in 2023. She originally became famous for her role as Joey Potter on the hit WB coming-of-age drama Dawson’s Creek, which aired from 1998 to 2003. She has now acted in a number of hit films, including Batman Begins and Miss Meadows.

Holmes’ position on the program is currently unknown. Season two of Poker Face starts on Peacock on Thursday, May 8.
