As the summer comes to a close, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are thinking about their future moves.

The 55-year-old Atlas actress “hasn’t seen Ben for weeks,” according to a source. She has been spending time in New York City and the Hamptons, where she hosted a huge birthday party for friends and family without Affleck, 51.

Meanwhile, Affleck has spent most of his time in Los Angeles, and Lopez has lately returned there.

“They’re on their way,” says the insider. “Jennifer is looking for a new place to start again.”

In May, reports said that Lopez and Affleck were living apart, indicating that their marriage was in trouble.

They presented a unified face at graduations and other family milestones but separated for the summer. They celebrated their second wedding anniversary separately in July.

“Considering everything that’s going on, Jennifer is having a good summer,” a source told me. “She’s been off and is free to concentrate on what comes next. She enjoys spending time with her children, family, and friends.

“She always has a positive attitude, even when things aren’t perfect,” says the insider.

Representatives for the celebrities did not reply to PEOPLE’s requests for comment.

Lopez, who postponed her summer concert tour to spend more time with her family, is developing a Netflix series based on Emily Henry’s novel Happy Place.

Her forthcoming film roles include Unstoppable, which will premiere at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival, and the musical Kiss of the Spider Woman. Artists Equity, Affleck’s production company, produces both films.

Affleck finished filming The Accountant 2, a sequel to his 2016 action picture, and will co-star with Matt Damon in the Netflix crime thriller RIP.
