After 60 years, the Englishwoman met the kid she had given up for adoption. This also rescued a man twice…

Hazel Stubbs Reyes of Hampshire, England, has had a long and emotional struggle to find her son, whom she gave up for adoption when he was a child. At the age of 22, the 80-year-old former nurse was abandoned by her child.

The encounter was quite moving, and not just because of the lengthy absence. The family has reconciled, and Duet Kenneth, 58, now lives with a loving mother, although the guy was far from cloudless recently. He had a really rough life, and at the time of the encounter, he had neither a house nor a job. In addition, Duo struggled with alcoholism.

When Hazel first met Kenneth, she discovered he resided in an abandoned bar. She had lost all hope for her future, but the mother acknowledged she never forgot about her kid.

There was never a day when he wasn’t on my mind, and I wasn’t concerned about his well-being.

Heizer met a young navy officer over a weekend at a nearby military camp in 1960. The woman stated that she didn’t believe in the sailor’s love at first since he was so charming. She found out she was pregnant a few months into their relationship.

I assumed he should be the first to know about the pregnancy, but he denied any involvement.

The sailor proved to be not only charming but also harsh. According to Hazel, the man persuaded the jurors at trial that all of his acquaintances had met with the girl. Finding little support, the nurse opted to start a new life in London, but she declined an abortion provided to her at work.

On February 19, 1961, the girl gave birth to Kenneth and began looking for a new family for him discreetly.

I simply wanted him to be kind and loving.

Hazel’s life improved over the following several years as she married and had two daughters, and after a while, she embarked on her lengthy quest in search of her first son with her youngest daughter Angela. The woman sought assistance from local television, and journalists were able to locate the man in 2015. True, his fate turned out to be somewhat different from what his mother had anticipated.

Kenneth was already homeless at the time, had major drinking issues, and was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. The man revealed that his life had been a struggle for many years.

I’ve been in bad situations, and my life has been the same. I experienced a nervous breakdown, went on heavy medicine, and ended up homeless. I lost my job as well as my teeth. If things had remained as they were, I would have died by now.

The man stated that things were different at the start of his voyage.

My foster mother was really close to me, and she was quite compassionate. My father drank heavily and became almost unpleasant at times. It was difficult, and as a youngster, I began drinking. I used to drink a liter of vodka every day. Then I absolutely went apart—I started hearing voices and got really lonely. It was the most difficult period since I had no one to talk to.

Kenneth couldn’t believe his ears when he learned that his own mother was hunting for him.

I simply collapsed and wept. I was terrified. I was scared that they would refuse to visit me after learning about the conditions in which I live, yet things turned out differently. I had no future and was depressed. I now have everything I need.

Hazel acknowledged that she was unconcerned about the potential of her biological child having a mental condition.

I wasn’t concerned. I worked in medicine and was familiar with a wide range of disorders, both mental and physical.

However, the family was in for a wonderful surprise: the man was not psychotic. Kenneth now has a job and has broken all of his bad habits.

I am quite proud of my son. He survived but did not return to his previous location. You can’t undo the past, but you can change the present.

The man now refers to Hazel as his mother and is content with his new existence.

They saved my life, and I am grateful. It’s great that we’re all together. I now have more than the majority of individuals.
