After being rejected about 20 times, a little girl with Down syndrome finally found her family

Difficult struggles awaited the tiny girl named Alba from the moment she was born. As soon as the young mother saw her infant, she knew she didn’t need such a child. She was orphaned and has Down syndrome.

Later, she had at least twenty possible parents, but none of them opted to share their lives with a “special” child. Nonetheless, Alba gained a unique family two years ago. Luca Trapanese, 40, is a single man with no parents or children. Adoption by single-parent families in Italy is a complicated procedure.

But, in response to Luca’s request, social services brought the 13-day-old child home. His many years of expertise in a special care institution may have aided him. This job taught him patience, empathy, and how to interact with the sick.

He had to go through several occasions and interviews before he could become Alba’s father. And the girl has been growing up in a joyful home atmosphere for the past two years.

Luca is raising him alone but hopes to find someone who shares his delight in parenting. In the evening, he loves the company of his lively daughter, who adores playing and dancing, and the two of them are content.
